Happy Deepawali!

Time to wipe out the darkness from the face of this earth ... and immerse in some celebration and joy!

Om asato ma sadgamaya,
Tamaso ma jyotir gamaya,
Mrityor ma amritam gamaya.
(Lead us from Falsehood to Truth; from Darkness to Light; and from Death to Immortality.)

Deepawali or Diwali is the festival of lights celebrated with great joy and fervour across India. This festival is celebrated on a grand scale in almost all the regions of India and is looked upon mainly as the beginning of New Year. As such the blessings of Lakshmi, the celestial consort of Lord Vishnu are invoked with prayers. Even countries like Kenya, Thailand, Trinidad, Siam and Malaya celebrate this festival but in their own ways.

Houses adorned with myriad clay lamps, and candles; children in new clothes, the sound of firecrackers on the streets, the chill of the first winter breeze and taste of mouth watering sweets explode into a colourful diaspora of celebration.

Meanwhile a creative soul at Pixar is giving form to some great ideas: http://drawn.ca/2005/11/01/happy-diwali/

The Made India team wishes a Happy Diwali to one and all!
